Fields of Work
Theatre pedagogical work shapes culture and is an important part of societal education. It operates in the positive tension between pedagogy and aesthetics.
The basis of theatre pedagogy work is people – with their unique abilities, needs and desires. Through an appreciative and respectful approach, personal development and fulfillment are encouraged.
Further Education & Training
The course offerings in adult education centers are diverse and cover areas such as language, body language, communication, perception, creative and free writing, dance and movement. Theatre pedagogy promotes self-awareness, self-confidence, creativity, spontaneity, responsiveness, motor skills, concentration, cognitive abilities and social skills through playful learning.
In addition, there are specialized training programs for specific professional groups and their institutions: teachers, kindergarten teachers, social workers, students, doctors and healthcare personnel.
Theatre associations
We offer workshops, district-level training, consulting and directing services for theatre groups. We provide support in developing concepts and implementing projects and programs for children, youth and seniors. Examples include: holiday camps, theatre productions, training programs, inclusion projects and intergenerational theatre projects.
Companies
Team building, teamwork and group dynamics are the focus. Expression, presence, articulation, body language, communication and self-confidence are developed through targeted exercises that promote authentic appearance and role/status play. A special method is Forum theatre: a real-life situation is staged, reflected upon, discussed and actively reworked to reveal multiple perspectives and explore possible solutions.
As a special highlight, we offer custom-designed scenes for company celebrations, anniversaries and events. We tailor these personal wishes and ideas, discussed together in advance.
Theatre
We plan, design and organize pre- and post-performance activities for theatre visits in the form of workshops, discussions and accompanying materials. At theatres, TheaterClubs are led by theatre educators in various educational areas.
Other Cultural Institutions
In collaboration with museums, libraries, nature parks and historical sites, we develop concepts to interactively convey culture and art through the medium of theater. This includes interactive city tours, puzzle walks, performances and site-specific workshops.
Daycare centers, Kindergartens
With the youngest participants, we start by playfully exploring senses, emotions and perception. Much of the work includes movement and role play as well as experimenting with voice and body. In the development of small theatre plays or puppet theatre, we work on age-appropriate stories from the children’s world of experience to make them relatable and engaging.
Schools, Universities
Theatre pedagogical work with students fosters social learning, team building, creativity, self-confidence, self- and group-awareness. Other skills are strengthened through speech training, text interpretation, dramatic reading, improvisation, creative and free writing, use of props, musical theatre, Jeux Dramatiques and much more. Theatre projects are mainly interdisciplinary.
In other countries, the subjects of drama and social learning have proven effective. Through drama pedagogy, learning content is conveyed through theatrical play.
Theatre projects are an effective medium for preventive work in schools, more on this under the section: Preventive, social institutions.
Preventive, social institutions
We offer theatre projects to support preventive efforts in the form of impulse theatre, theatre in the classroom, forum theatre and puppet theatre for younger audiences.
In youth centers, workshops for people with disabilities, senior homes, refugee shelters, women’s shelters, addiction centers, prisons, and more, we offer workshops on a range of topics tailored to specific target groups. Examples include: Performances, improvisational theatre and biographical theatre.
Together with various institutions, we can create Inclusive, transgenerational, intercultural and transcultural theatre projects. We are happy to discuss details in an initial meeting.
Cooperations
Our society is colorful, complex and diverse – and it constantly presents each of us with new challenges and responsibilities. To support one another, learn from each other and live together respectfully, we must collaborate and connect. This creates synergies, strengthens creative processes and releases energy. These are the foundations for shifting perspectives and exploring different solutions.
We are open to collaborations both internationally and regionally, for transcultural, transgenerational, inclusive, site-specific projects and encounters.
