Astrid worked for many years as an educational staff member in various youth associations and organizations, during which time she also regularly performed on stage, directed plays, and brought theatre education projects to life. Given her formal musical training, she enjoys combining theatre with music and singing.
Since 2005, Astrid has been working as a freelance theatre educator, offering a variety of workshops. She takes great joy in working extensively with independent children’s and youth theatre groups. Her preferred approach is the open, creative development of scenes and plays, guided entirely by the imagination and ideas of young people.
She has been directing theatre productions for adults for over 25 years. Time and again, she succeeds in creating something entirely new, drawing the performers out of their shells and turning each production into an unforgettable experience.
